Partitioning problems using BootCamp

I try to do BackUp of my HardDrive for install ubuntu, Someone knows How Can I DO Backup Using ntfs external disk?

On Mac OS X it will not fly. Go into disk utility and format the Hard disk as HFS extended (journaled). Then Back up your items. Ubuntu can only read from that format of Disk meaning u can get ur DATA off but not on.

Yes, I must undestand that thing yesterday. But I can format the disk, for personal reasons, so I have to back up only important files.
