Hey everyone!

I just installed 9.04 on my new computer, and I'd really really like it to be the ultimate sound and studio type of computer. I am a film composer and would lovei t if anyone here could point me in the right direction for notation editors (I already found musescore and rosegarden) sound, mixers, and anything else that would make this machine amazing for me to do my job.

thanks so much!

mathieu

wow! i didn't know so much was available! that open movie editor looks VERY promising!

I started doing a little research on my own, and I found that there is a distrobution of ubuntu called ubuntu studio. has anyone heard of/used this? i might get the iso and then install that instead of just plain ol' ubuntu.

Yes, in fact, that's where I got that list of applications from. They are all included on Ubuntu Studio. I've never used it, myself, but it does seem like it would be very nice.
