So this weekend I thought to my self, why not try a linux antivirus? So I went to synaptic and checked clamav. I let the system install while I went to go eat dinner. Unfortunately I did not read the dependencies list and I clicked install. When I checked back about 10 minutes later the download+installation was completed. However clamtk installed itself for some reason. Is this part of the dependencies or is it a virus (I'm paranoid ) . I'm using ubuntu 8.04 64 bit with all the updates. I know clamtk isn't suppose to installed itself because I've used ubuntu 9.04 before.

Thanks for your time :KS

ClamTK is simply the GTK gui front for clam, if ya don't want ya can simply uninstall it now. It certainly isn't a virus, no viruses in the repositories, that's for certain. See my sig installation guide for more information. You can always use aptitude show command to see more details of a package, or find such info via synaptic.

Nothing wrong with being paranoid, keeps me off Facebook.
