I've tried a variety of things and I've come to the conclusion that I can't solve this problem without additional help.

The situation:
- Two video cards, two monitors, but only one works at a time (by setting default video adapter in bios)
- Tried various things in Fedora 11, Ubuntu & Kubuntu 9.04 - no luck.
- In XP both monitors work perfectly (so it's possible.)

Abridged output of lspci:

00:02.0 Display controller: Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01)
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV34 [GeForce FX 5200] (rev a1)

Current xorg.conf:

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Configured Monitor"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Monitor "Configured Monitor"
Device "Configured Video Device"
DefaultDepth 24
EndSection

Section "Module"
Load "glx"
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "NoLogo" "True"
EndSection(Previously, I've feebly tried to add a second monitor/card/etc to xorg.conf without success.)

Output of Xorg.0.log:

I went to 'Main menu > System > Administration > Hardware Drivers' and when then a dialog box will ask if you want to use the NVidia driver. I chose yes and then chose the dual screen through the NVidia X Server Settings dialog. Hope this helps!

UPDATE:

Try this after installing the NVidia drivers:
1) Press Alt + F2 and then type 'gksu nvidia-settings' to bring up the NVidia X Server Settings dialog.
2) Choose 'X Server Display Configuration
3) Enable the second monitor and configure to your needs
4) Enjoy the dual monitor goodness!
