haha look there WERE no other matches, I just called it the final showdown coz I thought it sounded funny lol
I will probably make some more random face-offs sometime if no-one else beats me to it lol :)

Were you listening to that song "The Final Countdown" when you created this thread?

When was the last time someone made up THIS SPECIFIC thread? There are several Mint Linux threads, so I can see new threads asking about Mint, ending up in the Recurring Discission section......but these two....? NAH!!!!!!

Hmm... Flux won so far! I voted for e myself, but clearly both have their fans!

When E17 is released it will be perfect. Too bad it has been in development for the last 100 years, looks like it will by Enlightenment 16.999999999999999999 for the next 100 years as well.
To be honest, I am a reluctant convert Fluxbox -> xfce. XFCE is light weight , does multiple monitiors, and has compositing. XFCE is very feature rich. All they need now is a way to customize the menu =)

Agreed, XFCE is awesome! The only reason it wasn't one of the two I stuck here was because it is considerably LESS lightweight than these, although it's also true e is much bigger than Flux.
In the future, I think KDE and XFCE could/will both be important desktop environments :)

"fluxbox" "enlightenment" "dont care for either"
Missed an option, "like both but can't decide between them"
I'm edging toward E16 for [1] Unclutter hotkey, [2] amiga-esque Dragbar,[3] level of customizability of window borders & multiple window style options
but I also really like the tabbed windowing on Fluxbox.. plus E16's menu for me doesn't appear to be keyboard navigable !
Also miss "take to next desktop" etc.
UNCLUTTER - is there a program along the lines of "wmctrl" that can be bound to a hotkey to do this ? - should be available for all WM's

Bodhi.Zazen, whats not customizable about the menu?
The new xfce does not have an easy way to edit (customize) the menu (ie no gui tool).

I use Fluxbox since about 1 Year, since i left KDE.
Have tried many (all) Window Managers, but the Fluxbox is the best one.

Fluxbox does it for me. Its super light weight, and yet very pretty. Its is very stable, and works predictably. After getting used to fluxbox on my weak EEE Netbook for just few days, and every other computer I used in the world felt so noticiably slow Windows Vista/7/Mac/Ubuntu Gnome. Fluxbox is just more responsive than all the others.
