Is there good reason for something like this to require bleeding edge technology? Or is it a Marketing decition to only support the latest Ubuntu?

I have a server running Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, a desktop running Xubuntu 8.10 and a workstation running Windows 7 RC. I'd like to use Ubuntu One or something similar between the three, but I guess that's not going to happen.

The platform-indepentend solution I can think of is Opera Unite (http://unite.opera.com/), but it's not the same, without online space, and still very buggy.

Its in beta stage. Its easier to develop and hunt bugs if everyone uses the same version. Nothing more/nothing less.

@woazala:
Please post that in your own thread in general help, or else it wont get noticed.
