I have a logitech webcam that is on the iffy list for the uvc controller problems with linux. I generally just unplug it and plug it back in until it recognizes it. Is there a command in the terminal to do a reset of a particular usb bus and controller instead of manually pulling out the usb plug and plugging it back in? Part of it is me being lazy and part is I dont want to ruin a usb port physically by using it too much.

What im looking to do is basically either cycle power to this port or turn it off then turn it on manually through the terimal.
Bus 001 Device 013: ID 046d:09c1 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks

Thanks!

Hi Matt,

Do you have a solution for your issue with the web cam? I am looking for something comparable, the possibility to reset the USB bus without un- and re-plugging cables.

Best regards

Sven
