Hi there,

I'm finishing a really tough degree at the end of this year, and will have way more free time next year. I used to play a lot of piano, but had to drop that 3 years ago.

Gonna pick that up again, but I want to start learning a string instrument.

Just want to know if there are some cello players on the forum? Is this an instrument you can teach yourself to play, successfully? I don't have a lot of cash -> Gonna have to pay for the instrument out of my Nvidia 285 fund, and definitely can't afford lessons.

I know of mates who have taught themselves to play the guitar, but I'm not sure whether learning the cello is gonna be THAT easy?

Thanks for your time!

Rudolf

I dunno about the cello. But I learned how to play the penny whistle (aka flageolet) a few years ago and it was pretty easy. So I guess the cello will be easy too. I mean, one musical instrument is much like any other, right? ;)
