View Full Version : Meta package for build toolchain

Hello folks,

I just installed jaunty and tried to get into linux from scratch. The first thing I recognized was that quite a lot of tools from the linux toolchain (m4, bison/yacc, ...) were not installed.

Ok, that's clear since normal users - like my Dad, using hardy for a bit more than year now :-) - will never need them. What I was looking for was a meta package for installing all these tools, but I wasn't able to find one. Closest candidate was build-essentials, but it's far from beeing complete.

Is there such a package?

Thanks, Jupe
