My office needs a robust storage solution, but times are tough and we don't have the budget for a $10,000 ISCSI setup we need. I have been reading around the internet and have found separate articles on creating an ISCSI target server in Ubuntu, setting up RAID in Ubuntu and several other needed categories, but I was wondering if anyone has attempted, or knows why not to attempt, to do something like this. My hope is to have two servers at two different sites each identical, and each sending a snapshot to the other every night. Because of bandwidth limitations it may end up being a differential every night and a full on the weekends. Having about 10 SAS drives in each machine, with two set to hot spares. I will also post updates as I proceed with the project. Thank you all to any advice you can give.
