View Full Version : [ubuntu] Audacity for Ring Tones

So I have a question, sometimes my girlfriend asks me to make her ringtones for her Blackberry and I like to make some myself. Usually she asks me to make them while I am on Windows so I set up Audacity to capture What U Hear and play the song she wants on youtube(easier and I don't have to download the sound file). My question is I am trying to do the same thing in Ubuntu, but the problem arises when I try to capture the output sound. And I know it is because both programs are trying to use the sound device, is there anyway I can set it up so I can play the song in Youtube and capture it in Audacity?

P.S. Thanks for any help I get, I know you all don't get paid for it, and I know how annoying repeated questions are so if this is, just let me know.

it should be the same as in either OS.

I realize that it "should" work but it doesn't, I have had this problem before with 2 programs trying to use sound at the same time.
