Hi all,

My brother has a HP laptop which is low spec and with Windows was taking around 5+ minutes to load into Windows so I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 for him and he has a strange issue with the keyboard.
Lets say you are in a web page (this applies to any application( and you place your cursor in a login field you will start typing in your login and occasionally the cursor will move it self a couple of spaces back even when not typing?
My first though was they might be scraping the end of their hand across the mousepad, does anyone have any idea's?

Thanks

Try disabling touchpad when typing. There are lots of threads in the forums and in the wiki.

Yup, it's the touch pad! Do a google search for "Ubuntu Comprehensive Multimedia" You'll get a result for a post here at Ubuntu Forums that's kept pretty up to date. There are instructions on how to tweak the touch pad.
