Um, (looks around at Ubuntu forum). Not a clue!

RTM stands for release to manufacturing. This means that the version on technet is what has been sent to OEMs like Acer, Lenovo, HP, Fujitsu, Dell, and others. The retail version may be the slightest bit modified but the RTM is extremely close if not identical.
BTW: I'm using the RTM release of Windows 7 right now. It's very nice, I've had no issues with it whatsoever. In my opinion it does a much better job than XP with many tasks.

Let's just hope the hardware vendors hurry up and get their legacy stuff supported. I'd love to have Win7 on either my Desktop or Laptop, but my graphics card (Nvidia) is always too old for the Beta/RC's to support it.

I'm using the RTM now as well. But when the general availability takes place do I have to upgrade. Or will Windows update do the job?
I mean technet users have payed for the build with their subscription so it should be final?
The time interval between rtm and general availability may be just so that ms can burn the DVD's first batch!

It was a good post though it made me laugh! hehe
If my pc was more powerful, Windows 7 was free and KDE 4.3 didnt exist, I would consider switching.
Is that version free then? Or? o.O

I start trolling the new posts at 2am and don't notice which part of the forum they're in! I will pay more attention now. Maybe if I went to bed at a decent hour I'd have more of a life. Nah, probably not. :P
Cheers!

My post midnight input is usually negative, too.
I do plan on getting the free copy of 7 when the new semester starts. One of the benefits of being enrolled in IT related classes.
