So, last weekend my Windows Vista install died when I tried to install a new Nvidia driver (go figure...) so I jumped ship, so to speak, to Ubuntu. I recently got into n64 emulation and I had been using project64 on Windows which worked amazingly with the Glide64 plugin. Now that I've switched to Mupen64plus I have one issue. In Ocarina of Time the pause menu takes about 10 seconds just to show up. Is this normal or how can this be fixed?

On an unrelated note, would some of these issues be rectified by switching to 64bit Jaunty? I read that, besides the fact that most programs are for 32bit, 64bit actually performs worse in some cases so I decided on 32bit Jaunty.

Sorry for the long post...

have you tried changing the graphics plugin or fiddling with graphics settings?

Yeah, all of the graphics plugins have the same slow menu thing, though Glide64 is by far the best. This may be the emulator though because I had the same problem in 1964 when I used vista. Could it be a 32bit thing though? Since the Nintendo 64 was 64bits would this work better in Jaunty amd64? I'd really rather not have to reinstall but, if 64bit is that much better I will when I get a chance.
