How to define the wrokgroup for samba (without editing files) ?

Hello.

Look strange, but I did not find the way to define the workgroup through the system settings. I find the way to enter the default user-name & password ... but no user-group. What is really strange, is that according to the help, this should be possible (... fill workgroup field ...).

Any idea how I could do that ?

You are using KDE 4.2 right? The samba config is very limited in 4.2.

The KDE 4.3 samba dialog gives many more options, so you may have to either upgrade to 4.3 or manually edit smb.conf.

Indeed, I'm still using KDE 4.2. I will not upgrade right now and wait for the next version.
