I have a machine with two identical 10/1000 NIC's attached. I was wondering if I could some how bind them two together to act as one and if one NIC fails, the 2nd one is fail over. Is this possible on 9.04?

Here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP/Trunking) is a help page on bonding.

Thanks for that link. I am confused however as the link seems fairly straight forward however it discussing the performance increase from bonding two NIC's however I did not see any mention of NIC redundancy or fail over. Is this not a feature or benefit of this specific type of bonding?
