Hello All

I have problems trying to use Synaptic to install a "Text Based (multiverse) > java-package".

Been following the Java instructions found at http://help.ubuntu.com/starterguide?/C/faqguid-all.html.

The Java install instructions ask you to install with Synaptic. I followed the "How do I use Synaptic install packages?"

Problems Start with step 5 of the "How do I use Synaptic install packages?" (which ask you to install a Ubuntu CD-ROM).

After installing the CD-ROM and ckicking OK A box comes up saying "Warrning - The following Problem were found on your computer system: - wi failed to fetch cd rom:(ubuntu...i586) (20051012) poolmain/b/birnutils/binatils_2:16:12.ubuntu6...i386deb "

I went to Places - Computer - Opening CD-ROM drive and also had an error message show its self.

Could the disk be bad? Is there another way around this. The origional task was to get Yahoo games to play on my ubuntu Linux machine.

I think if you remove go to the Tools-->Repositories section in synaptic then you can just remove the CDrom as a repository and Synaptic will get the file from the internet
