Hello,

Computer: iBook G4 mid-2005 series

OS: Ubuntu 9.04 Server Edition

Issues: I have installed ubuntu 5 times now using two different cds. During the fresh install I put a user name and password that I know and write down I even have used very simple user name and password but every time I get to the login screen it prompts for the said username and tells me im incorrect, Every Time! I have no idea what to do.

Your help and time is very appreciated

The one thing I could think of is that your keyboard is been detected differently during and after the installation. If this is the problem you could try to pre-check your password spelling by writing it into the user name and, of course, erasing it afterwards (just to make sure Ubuntu is actually reading the same thing you think you're writing).

Os simple use the same word for both the user name and its password. I know it's not a good security policy, but you can change it once you're logged in.
