slow wireless connection

so i am running ubuntu jaunty 9.04 on a persario x1370us with a Intel Pro/Wireless 2200 802.11b/g Integrated Wireless LAN
which it works but it is slow
i get 75% signal from my router which is linksys rangeplus wireless router wrt110
any help with this would be great

its slow internet and with up dates
i usually get 40k on my windows laptop
i get around 25k on the linux one

What are the rates that you get if you're plugged directly into the hub with an ethernet cable?

Are you using WPA or WEP? or are you running an open wifi connection?

What does the log from your Wifi router say? Errors? Other people connecting to your router? etc..
