Hello People:
Yesterday I installed Jaunty. Everything was ok after I've configured webcam, the annoying ALSA and Mplayer issue, etc.
Today when I boot up the laptop the desktop was different. Only the wallpaper and one icon remained, and all the configs I've made were vanished. The panels loose the configs after the X restart. Icons and properties return to default.
It seems that the gconf does not save the changes I made.

Thanks for your help.

Well, now the panels are missing.
After an anger attack I made the stuipi thing of the day, re-install.
But nothing changed for the panels.
So I'm thinking that's some config file that's in the /home directory that's causing the stupid error. I didn't format the /hoem because there's some big files I need.
By the way:
Using Jaunty AMD64 on a Vaio CR31Z-R.

Help was appreciated.

Hmmm. Well if everything was ok before you configured your webcame then either re-boot it a few times to see if it 'just works' or uninstall the webcam and see if that works.

The main thing is not to get angry as that often solves nothing.

There is prob a command someone can give you

Well......... angry enough to say some BAD words along the afternoon:P.
But I don't think that the problem wasn't the Webcam, because I've restarted 2 or 3 times and it was ok. I saw a movie on the night and everything was ok.
What I want to know is which file or files that control the desktop environment besides gconf. I think that was the problem.
