screen resoloution no choice to make larger

I have just installed 9.04 on to a Fujitsu siemens Esprimo Mobile laptop and the only two options i get are 640x480 and 800x600 ( see screen shot attached for details) and it will not detect monitors either ?

I would like to see more options and change the settings - i have been trawling the forums for answers but to no avail -

Hi and welcome, if you are using intel graphics on Jaunty then you may look at the link in my signature.
You may also look at X/Config/Resolution (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution)
