hey I really want to be able to use different flash environments on the internet on my iBook G4 running Ubuntu 8.4..

But it won't let me install it from add/remove programs I also tried downloading it manually and that didn't work either. I also told it to find the plugin when clicking on a "missing plugin icon" but that didn't work either. I'm new to Ubuntu linux, but anyone know a way to get flash player running properly?

I used to have Debian running on a iBook G4, but I was never able to get flash into it. If I remember from researches I've made there was no flash available to PPC/GNU-Linux.

Partial solution I found that let me watch videos was to download them via flashgot (or other flash video downloader) and watch them via vlc or some other media player. But, of course, that doesn't help if what you're looking for is actually being able to use flash-based Internet pages.

There is no Adobe Flash Player plugin for Linux PowerPC.... Gnash is somewhere out there, but it doesn't work most of the time....

Beat me to the punch. You need to get a new Mac laptop.
