Antivirus isn't neccessary for linux, mostly because there are very few viruses in creation for linux.

As for intrusion detection, try this link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=919472.

Ty for the help, man you guys are just the most awsome group of people, so helpful, what a neat community! Im so happy to have found you guys, and Ubuntu. For the first time in about 10 years of being online, I feel like I have found something worth contributing to and donating to, I just cant say enough how awsome Ubuntu and you guys are! Windows has nothing on Ubuntu not even close!!!
