This error comes up in ndisgtk: "could not find network configuration tool".

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 and trying to get a Netgear WG511v2 wireless PC card on my Dell Inspiron 1100 to connect to a LInksys router, without success. I've installed the WG511v2 driver through System | Administration | Windows Wireless Drivers (there is no menu entry System | Administration | Networking as referred to in several Ubunto help pages). The leds on the card light up, and the Ubuntu networking icon indicates that the linksys signal is strong enough. But Firefox can't find any servers.

I gather from reading compatibility lists that I should perhaps ditch the Netgear card.

However, first I'd like to make sure that the operating system isn't the cause of this failure. So where's the network configuration tool in Ubuntu 9.04?

Try System > Preferences > Network Connections, that's where it is on my system.
