Will ubuntu 5.1 (GNOME) have drivers/support this card?? How can I get this cards specific drivers onto ubuntu? I looked at the ati site.. but i have no clue what I am looking for.

Also, how does the drivers for my motherboard work in ubuntu? I have a ASUS A8N-E mobo pci-e....do i need to get drivers for it too? the same one's that i got under windows xp pro?

If someone could enlighten me, that woould be nice of them. I am very new to this sort of thing, so I appreciate the help.

As far as I know Ubuntu will support your graphic card although if you want 3d capabilities, as I presume you want, you'll have to install new drivers (they come with Ubuntu).

This can be easily done following this guide:

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 AIW Pro and haven't had anything but problems with the drivers provided on ATIs website.

As for your motherboard, I honestly don't know, I have a Asus K9V-F and I didn't have to install anything, everything was supported.

Please do tell how it went!
