Afternoon, really quick question on startups. I have a few apps such as a jre server, coldfusion, etc. and we have recently cut over to Ubunutu server. Since there is no gui startup manager, where do you set the startup apps as on a reboot (before login) apache starts as we want but I need those others as well.
Thanks.

I am not familiar with these apps (or are they custom?) but usually a vendor's install script/package will install startup scripts where they are needed.
If I were you, I'd spend less time making threads and more time googling for things like "ubuntu startup scripts" and "ubuntu boot process"

You've never heard of ColdFusion Application server or a JRE (Java Runtime) server? (Maybe you should google it) Well if the vendor's app came with one, I guess I would not be asking the question!
As for the 2nd, your not me. The forums are for support, not people's .02 unless asked for. Their not running on your servers, nor should you be worried about an extra thread! Your not a forum moderator so keep your comments about what a user should and should not port to yourself!

Everything starts up in /etc/init.d/

wojox, thanks.
samosamo, grow up. "ethugging", give me a break. The point was simple. People use the forums and post questions for answers, not things like go search somewhere. If you don't have an answer, can't offer anything worthwhile, save yourself the time, and others the hassle and STFU.
