Hi, I'm new.

Anyway, I have a Dell Mini 10 running UNR, and one thing I have noticed is that there is no indication of Caps Lock being on (other than my typing being in caps!).

Is there something available which can display this? Even something simple as flashing a "Caps lock on" or "Caps lock off" message on the screen when the button is pressed would be ideal.

Thanks for reading,

Esqui

Using your favorite method, install lock-keys-applet. This is a gnome panel applet that shows the stats of the caps, num, and scroll lock keys of your keyboard.

I just upgraded the OS on my Dell Mini from 8.04 to 10.04 Netbook Remix. The applet worked fine in 8.04. I now have the applet installed, but I cannot see any way to add it (or add anything for that matter) to the panel. Any suggestions.

I had this installed in 9.04. Unfortunately there is a bug, that must be still around, where there is no blank space to click and add widgets to the panel. In 9.04 you could switch to standard interface, click on edit panel, then switch back to the netbook one.

I'm not sure how to do it on 10.04.

To add the caps-lock applet, just open a terminal window and type: sudo apt-get install lock-keys-applet Then add the applet as usual on the gnome panel. It works fine with Ubuntu 9.10 on my Dell mini 10 v.
