image archive and distribution

First of all, I'm mainly a windows guy but I'm falling more and more in lust with ubuntu. What I'd like to do is configure a server (with massive amount of storage) to do network backup and restores of xp images. Has anyone tried this using partimage or any other linux imaging software. Again, I'm only considering the possibilities and still have to pickup some linux server expertise. Thanks ahead for any comments.

Actually, I find that while talking to myself (and answering my own post), a few more searches (as usual) have revealed more than I've ever wanted to know on the subject. I need at least one more lifetime immersed in the internet to even begin satisfing various curiosities. My impatience has forced yet, another solution.:)
