The New York State Loco was approved last month. Now we need to get some activity going in the State's largest city. If you currently live in the New York City area and are willing to attend an Ubuntu event please post here. This will help us plan some events for the Big Apple in the near future.

I'm about 20 miles from the city. I'd be willing to come to an event during this summer or on Friday evenings/nights and the weekends.

As I mentioned on the mailing list, there's a Debian NYC group (http://lists.vireo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/debiannyc) that's very active, and is working hard for DebConf10 (http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf10) which will be held in New York. DebConf (http://www.debconf.org/) is the yearly conference for the Debian Project, for both developers coordinating together and interested users of Debian/Free Software.

If the team does decide on something, we could get a lot of help (and interested participants) from the Debian group.

Hey guys, long time no speak. Been real busy lately with work & family stuff. I work in NYC and would be willing to attend if something is planned.

Alright we have Yoasif and Koltor... You guys want to do some research and get a spot... and then organize a NYC 'get together'? I lend what assistance I can from Rochester.
