I have a wireless router in my home through which I connect to my computers. My kids seem to be downloading too much games and movies in their computer. They have their own computers. Is there a way that I can control the traffic (download and upload) to their computer through my computer?

Among your options are settings in some routers that block or restrict access to certain sites, the details vary from router to router. If the router connects to the internet through your computer, you might want to look into some kind of parental controls.

Thank you for the reply.

No the router does not connect to the internet through my computer. It has a direct internet connection.

You could try monowall. It is a free firewall/router software that has a traffic shaping function.

It looks too complex. Have you used it before?
