First of all, sorry about my bad english!

Oke, Right now i`m using Ubuntu since a while, just for web programming. I`m really positive about Ubuntu and other linux versions. But i have one problem with it. I downloaded many paint programs, but none of them are great. I`m not searching for a photo editing program, because for that i`m already using gimp. I`m just searching for a program where i just can`t make lines and circles. I already founded a program, but that one was just worser then paint from windows.

So, have anybody some good advice about wich program i should use? I`m really desperate, because right know i can`t make good pictures for my website.

Thanx everybode!

Where you can paint lines and circles? Have you tried Kpaint?

The GIMP can make lines and circles...

Its a bit more complicated than a lot of other programs, but the power you get more than makes up for it. :)

me too. how can I do that? http://www.hawkwinds.com/tickle/hillcrest.jpg

done with gimp in xp, had to freehand the line showing where we need to dig. Looks like crappola. I've yet to find out how to make a straight line, or a circle. But I did find out how to do 3d fonts, finally!!!

Is it just me who believes that something must be wrong when there's a need for a tutorial for making "a straight line"?

I think there is, if it has more in it than "use beziers".

Anyway, to answer the OP, I think Inkscape is exactly what you're looking for.

Well don't feel like the lone stranger, but there's a tutorial for it, so ....

Besides, it's not like there's a button for it.

Well, its fine that gimp can draw straight lines, but i`m really search something like a good autocad program. What works with precision. I really don`t like drawing lines with gimp. Yesterday i searched for some good autocad programs but none of them where great.

Someone else some good advice? I really need a program just for painting lines, circles, squares with exact precision.

Thanx,
Mcvegan

If you don't like Inkscape there are other vector graphics software too. You could try sodipodi which is used a lot.

I already founded a program, but that one was just worser then paint from windows. This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's better than MSPaint for sure: Kolourpaint.

It's quite sad that GNOME developers does not really care about a simple paint program. There so many noobies users out there, some I reckon never be able to use GIMP. Oh common, where are all talented GTK developers? Can you guys make a Paint Brush clone on GNOME? I just hate Gpaint because it's too hard to use.

All the paint programs that start with the letter k also work in Gnome, you know.

And why can't people use GIMP? I don't understand the difficulty.

sudo apt-get install kolourpaint

I didn't try this before because I didn't want to install kde dependencies. Now I know it doesn't.
