Hey Everyone,

Yesterday I bought a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card. As you may guess I am having no luck installing drivers for it. The card works great for my dual-booting buddy, Win-XP.

I have been up and down the Ubuntu forums and everyone else's forums for that matter. I have tried the new alsa driver. I have made sure my on board audio was disabled in BIOS. I have tried various work arounds from the 'buntu forums. I have been reading that this card basically has no hope on linux. I hope someone out there can help me out and prove me wrong, I would love to keep this card.

I am running Ubuntu 9.04, 32bit.

Thanks in advance,
Randy

Hi there i have SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music running in ubuntu 9.4 64bit & xbuntu 9.4 64bit i think you should be able to use that driver for the X-Fi Xtreme
this has been covered before on this forum if you need more just do a search How-To: Creative X-Fi
To install, you need to download this:
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kerne...apshot.tar.bz2
http://connect.creativelabs.com/linux/default.aspx
