Hello,
I want to update my display on my Dell Inspiron Laptop e1505 and have had nothing but headaches.
First thing was I tried to install the ATI drivers from the repository, which all that did was make my system unusable. Had to re-install ubuntu to get it back up and running.
My next stop was ATI's website and see if they had an update. Unfortunatly, they did not have any 64 bit drivers.
All I really want to do is change my display resolution higher, since I use remote desktop to my Windows Machines, and their display resolutions are much higher then what my laptops are and it makes it difficult to work on them.
It is currently set to 1280x800, but I can't get any higher. I thought about manually changing it in the xorg.conf, but I don't think that will work.
Any ideas?
