Hello, I have a simpledrive 500gb external hd. I want to put ubuntu onto it, but im not really sure how to go about this. Ive done it once on my 4g flash drive but it was a pain.

Im using my sisters computer, and removing the internal hd's isn't an option.
On the extrenal, I would like to be able to put portableapps onto it so I can still use it with windows. Would I need to make its own partition for that?

The computer is a Dell Dimension DM051
My external hd is a SimpleDrive 500gb external hd.

If you need anymore information, feel free to ask. Thanks.

anyone?

Hi and please be patient, Bumping your thread once a day is polite. :)
This Installing on external or RAID hard disks (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation#Installing%20on%20external%20or%20RAI D%20hard%20disks) may help
Be sure on where you install the grub since it is not your system. :)
