I'm trying to connect to my Sony Ericsson w350a using a USB cord so that I can transfer files. I have Ubuntu Netbook-remix 9.04 installed.

How do I do this? The phone thinks it's connected but Ubuntu is oblivious. Typing lsusb into the terminal causes it to freeze.

Typing dmesg | tail gives me

It seems I am not the only one to have this issue. I have a w350i and have the exact same problem. Didn't have it with 8.04 or 8.10.

Right! The previous versions of Ubuntu I had installed can detect my USB devices just fine. It's only since I installed 9.04 that I'm having trouble.

edit: I tried adding "usb_storage" to /etc/modules. This did not fix the issue, although I have a different dmesg output now:

Does this make a difference?
