Do it the same way you asked this question, but in one of the support forums.

Go to the Main Page (http://ubuntuforums.org/), select the forum you want to ask a question in, at the top of the forum page you will see a New Thread button. Click that to ask a question. See sceenshot.

What are you downloading that's taking 35 minutes? Surely it's not an Ubuntu release... a staff member ought to know to torrent that and seed generously.

I'm downloading AntiX, and the torrents seem to be offline when I started the download. :)

I'm downloading AVG free at the moment so that I can give a more detailed answer to your question (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7664355&postcount=363) (I've already given a quick answer in that thread)

Thank you for that, I was struggling that day.Everything else about Ubuntu works so well, I've been happy and productive since leaving those fenestra people.
I was attempting to get F Spot to load my photos but found a workaround by opening one with it. It lets me specify which directory I want it to open but doesn't do it . Nevertheless I have a solution of sorts and it's infinitely better than Ms and doesn't crash after loading a couple of pictures. I so wish I had switched to Ubuntu before.
Thank you so much or your help to a panic situation at the end of a long and stressful day.

I'm not sure if you solved that - in the end I loaded Avast which I've used on memory sticks before. I used to use AVG on Windows and just wanted to make sure I had no Windows viruses since blasting my PC and loading solely Ubuntu.

The latest version of AVG free for Linux seems to be command-line only - no GUI, sorry. Updates are done with the avgupdate command, and scans are done with the avgscan command. I spotted a reference somewhere to "on access" scanning somewhere, but I'm not sure how to activate it.
