What do these terms mean :warty, hoary, gnome, jaunty,:confused:

and apart from that , i would like to know how can we install and play games , as they are done in Windows ...
:(
apart from that , there are many applications , which do not have the linux substitute for using them , like Your-Freedom, feegate etc.

I would like to get help on these factors...

Please help and give me their explanations , starting from the top.

Hi there,

Talking about the names warty, hoary, gnome, jaunty, they are animal names so you can see pictures illustrating them just by googling the names don't know exactly for gnome but I am tempted to believe it's something like...

To install windows games, you need to install wine...

These are the names given to each new release version of Ubuntu. Check this wikipedia link to know more - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_(operating_system)#Releases

You can install games and other application via Add/Remove Programs under the Applications menu.

For Linux alternatives/replacement of Windows software, check this - http://www.linuxalt.com/ and this - http://linuxappfinder.com/alternatives

One of these is not like the others :)

All but one are codenames for the releases of Ubuntu, as has been discussed already.

GNOME (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNOME) is a desktop environment, like KDE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE) or Xfce (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xfce).
