Hi,
I use eXeSMS to send text messages in Windows. It will run through WINE in Linux but doesn't connect...ie: sending always fails. I tried 'SMSClient' but found it was command line based, and I'd rather have an app. with an interface.
Any help appreciated.:)

Wine is rarely the correct solution. It should really only be considered as a last resort, after working through native apps, rather than as a first attempt, as many here believe.

Try wammu, which is the gui frontend for gammu.

Thanks llamabr, I installed Wammu and got it to detect my phone and import contacts etc, but I'm wondering if it's exactly what I want. The one I'm using now accesses my Exetel SMSs which don't go through my mobile phone provider. Actually, it doesn't use my phone at all. Is it possible to set it up for Exetel's SMS service?
