Unable to properly install and run energy xt2

Have file energyXT2Compact_Linux.tar.gz but do not understand how to install and run, have tried extracting to desktop but nothing happens when trying to open

KDE 4.2.4

perhaps..it need any gnome/gtk libraries for working

check system requirements in official site

run it from the terminal, it'll show what libraries are needed.
