I am trying to install ubuntu on a bootcamp partition on my mac. I downloaded the ubuntu 32 bit file from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and burned it onto a cd. The problem I am having is that my computer is not recognizing the cd as a bootable cd. In the menue where it lets me choose what to boot from the cd doesn't show up. Similarly, when I load the partition with no operating system installed it tells me to insert a bootable cd and hit any key when ready. Pushing buttons and re-inserting the cd doesn't cause the screen to change. Is there something more I need to do or do I need to burn specific files on the cd?

Did you make sure you burned the ISO as a image? Maybe it just burned the ISO raw there. Open up the CD in some OS, check inside. Are there folders and stuff, or just the ISO file? If just the ISO file, you burned it wrong. Then, you can use Google for information on how to burn ISO files on whatever OS you can use.
