OK, with all due respect to all of the other threads out there...
A little history first. Yes I am new to this, but I can follow instructions relatively well. I have my sound card work just dandy in Ubuntu 9.04. I'm running 64-bit Ubuntu, and 64-bit VMware workstation 6.5.xx, with the guest operating system being Windows XP SP3.
The specific problem I think is that VMW is reporting my card as a generic SB 16-bit PCI card to windows. Does anyone know how to change this? Should it be attempted?
I don't like being held hostage, but there are some really good audio programs for windows, and I Can't record from my live drive(front panel add-on for audigy). I've invested nearly a grand in hardware, and software that I want to be used for wonderful things, if only I could get my sound card to work.
