Hey guys
As the title suggests I have a Compaq Presario v5000, and the indicator light for the Mute button doesn't light up when I press it (However, the sound DOES mute like it should)
I was able to find a fix to this after going through my sound settings one day and by accident finding a switch that seemed to toggle the light when switching it on and off, which involved setting something in a file and then putting it somewhere in my system, but I can't for the life of me find this topic anywhere (It was posted somewhere here on Ubuntu Forums)
However, for no discernable reason, just today I pressed the mute button, and the light wouldn't come on. I couldn't find the switch in my sound preferences (Which dissapeared long ago, after I used the aforementioned fix, which suggests to me it's a different problem anyways)
It's not an urgent matter, but I really like having this light. If anyone knows what the deal is, please help.
