Help Installing Gnome!

Hey Guys
I Want To Install Gnome On Ubuntu Server 8.10 But Dont Have A Internet Connection, What I Do Have Is The Desktop 8.10 Cd's
Is There A Command I Can Use To Copy The *Core Version Of Gnome* Or Even The Full Version Over From The Disk? Cheers.

Others might be better equipped to offer advice for installing gnome direct from CD (I seem to recall reading something about the "alternate" install disk somewhere)

My first thought would be to use:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-dekstop
The down side is that this usually requires an internet connection.

Also If I Were Logged In As Root Do I need To Use Sudo?
