Hi, I am using ubuntu 8.10
I installed the server edition and also intalled desktop version.
I currently just upgraded the internet line which now I can host my own server.
I currently have my website files and installed apache2 server and have it config correctly.
I am using webmin a web interface to apache and mysql etc.
I don't want any of this stuff overwrite. Later on I want to make a exact copy of my partition so I can just transfer all the stuff over to another computer. I have a newer computer with latest hardware and I plan to have that used as the main server. I currently have the website and server software on my old computer I got in year 2000. So I didn't have a new computer until 2 or 3 years ago. That computer I might use that as the server or buy a newer computer with latest hardware as the server.
I just want to know whats the best way to copy an exact particion so when I install the new OS I can just grade that partician that will be stored on my external 500gb drive and transfer it to the other computers hard drive.
I have heard of partimage but would like to see a tutorial or something online that will teach me how I can create the image and then install it on another computer.
