Hey all I'm looking for a good quality webcam that i can take apart so preferably not too expensive. It would also have to be linux compatible...

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Dave.

Pretty much all webcams have Philips innards (unless something changed in the last year), so you're relatively shafted on official drivers. However, last time I plugged a webcam into my ubuntu laptop, it did get recognised and work.

hehe I'm not too bothered about "official" drivers. As long as it works well in linux im not bothered at all.

The cheapo Chinese made ones with ZC-301 chipset works quite well out of box. So do Logitechs.
