Hi,

As some of you well know, some rules related to language and such, are being broken. Mostly due to 2 things:

What to do with Lots of hard drive space, and fast internet speed.
And trolls.

Honestly, I see it everywhere these days here on this very subforum. Nobody wants to hear about these things, and let me get this straight for you:

NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT GENITALIA!

A few rules need to be tweaked and it needs to be more enforced. I am sick and tired of this. Perhaps we cannot control trolls, but we can control the majority of our community's actions.

And for the sake of all of our members. Young and old, keep away from questionable language.

Sincerely,
Dragos240

The forum staff can tell me what to do, not you. That's what they are there for along with the report function. Use it if you are offended. I find the mods doing a pretty good job.

Just a 'friendly' reminder. I am by no means, forcing you to abide by this suggestion.

Yes, but I've just seen much of it. Too much for that matter. So I thought I should make a topic about the issue.

I don't mind the occasional friendly reminder to exercise some care in how I express myself - a recent example where a moderator stepped in and edited one of my posts was in connection to a response I'd made to someone else's post that could have been taken to be offensive. See here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7694341&postcount=10).

The best way to deal with problems is to use the report button http://ubuntuforums.org/images/buttons/report.gif and give the staff a "heads up!"

Is nobody going to tell me "What to do with Lots of hard drive space, and fast internet speed"? I feel all I can do now is use foul language... or go troll some sights and make people uncomfortable when they say stupid irrelevant things... and cuss.. eeeww

Please use the report button, and yes the staff does try to manage both inappropriate posts and trolls as well. I have personally spent a number of hours dealing with trolls (and the vulgar PM that goes with the territory).

For the staff members suggesting I use the report feature, I already do so, whenever I see something. All the time, I have rarely let an inappropriate remark slip through the palm of my hands. I just felt a topic could be created to address these common issues.

Considering how often people read stickies asking much less of them, one topic in FF&H preaching to people about watching their language probably won't do a whole lot.

Personally, I found this post quite forward. 'NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT GENITALIA!' That statement is absurd, how could you possibly know that, have you met everyone in the world?

Here is my version, a bit less 'in ya face'

Dear ubuntuforums users,

As some of you will know, it appears some rules related to language and such, are being broken. Mostly due to 2 things:

What to do with Lots of hard drive space, and fast internet speed.
And trolls.

This sort of behaviour seems to be on the increase recently and has shown itself on this very subforum. If anyone should happen to come across such things, may I politely remind you to use the report button whenever necessary.

Genetalia is not something that should be discussed on these forums and some users may find it offensive.

Perhaps the CoC needs to be slightly modified to address this growing issue.

And for the sake of all of our members. Young and old, it may be best if you try not to participate in discussions involving these types of topics.

Thanks for reading, I hope you have a pleasent time on these forums.

All the best,
Bodsda

Personally, I love talking about genitalia on the internet.
