Hi all,
my hp laptop has fingerprint reader device.
i wonder how to use it in ubuntu 9.04?
is there any apps for it?
i want to use it for logging in and security reasons.

If you want to try it out, install the package fprint-demo.
Edit: System76 has a guide for how to use fprint for authentication. It might be helpful even though you have an HP.

Biometrics are not yet really integrated into Linux. The fprint project is the best available, but it's not done yet. That's why it's just a demo at this point.

There's also ThinkFinger (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ThinkFinger), but I've not tried that one.
