I'm having a strange issue with compiz.

I'm running Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 3 on my T400, which has both GMA 4500 and an HD 3470 discrete card.

Now, I know that switchable graphics doesn't work in Linux, so I have it disabled in the BIOS, and its set to integrated(GMA 4500).

For some reason whenever I type "compiz --replace" to enable compiz my HD 3470 fires up.

I can tell its running because not only does it start producing heat, but because I'm now powering 2 GPUs my battery life literally drops by an hour and a half!

The thing is though, I'm still using the GMA 4500. I don't have the ATI drivers installed.

Does anybody know how I can enable compiz without activating my HD 3470?
