View Full Version : [ubuntu] Fn keys reversed on keyboard

I've just purchased a Keysonic ACK-3400 U (http://keysonic.net/pages/keyboards/ACK_3400_U/ack_3400_u_uk.html) mini keyboard and have encountered an unexpected problem.

To save space, this keyboard does away with the standard number pad and other keys, instead using a function (Fn) key to provide the missing keys on top of existing ones. Unfortunately the function key seems to be working in reverse, with the function key actions taking precedence over the standard keys e.g. the U, I and O keys are defaulting to 4, 5 and 6 (a number pad is overlaid on the right hand side of the keyboard).

Is there an easy and elegant way to fix this behaviour?

I'm not running X if that makes a difference.

edit: Well don't I feel stupid. I forgot that I'd made a script to automatically turn on numlock on startup (which was desirable with my previous keyboard) and this appears to be causing the issue. Sorry for the false alarm. >.<
