Firmware for apple bluetooth keyboard

Hello,
Does anyone know if you can update apple bluetooth keyboards in ubuntu or windows? Apple only has a dmg available on their site. Alternatively, does anyone know if I can flash this keyboard with open firmware so I don't run into this problem again? It's not connecting and I thought I'd try to fix it by messing with the firmware. Thanks,

if you can find an emulator that works then yes but i know for a fact you cant run mac software in ubuntu but you can in windows

id update it with a mac though because i wouldent risk bricking my keyboard with is liek 100$ to an emulator
